Informed Financial Planning is the act of using external information, alternative perspectives and additional tools to create an effective actionable financial plan. Its about planning with a map or blindly wandering . Its about approaching from a proactive perspective with information that can affect a better outcome than the DIY method. It simply more effective.
The process is collaborative, and intuitive. First developing a model, and then finding the right elements to make that model work. Gathering information, modeling and forecasting in advanced software, we apply plans and strategies. Only when we are satisfied do we create an action plan.
Recommendations are cumulative and progressive. Starting is more important than where we start from, and progress is different for every client. Like a flow chart or process diagram we always have choices. A successful financial plan gives us better choices, taking us where we want to be. Planning with no greater insight is not planning at all.
There's no secret sauce or proprietary process to financial planning. It's collaborative, and evolving refinement that improves the outcome over time.
The duty of a Certified Professional to act in the best interest of the client. Despite what is said about lawyers, Doctors, and other professionals, their Profession guides their standards. As a Certified Financial Planner, I am bound to support my clients with the highest level of care.
